Regional branding in the Czech Republic – 18 brands within one system

The branding system in Czech Republic is built on 18 brands within one system. All of the brands in the Association have common granting principles, marked and unified graphic design. Their basic characteristics include the guaranteed origin and respect for the environment in all phases of both production and sale. The brand also concerns proportion of manual or mental work and local raw materials. However, these are not always required if the product gets sufficient evaluation in the other criteria that express specificity within the respective region and extraordinary quality.

Local Identity Product in Latvia (LIP) - good for community, good for Latvia !

Local Identity Product (LIP) is a brand created by "Latvian Rural Forum" that is assigned to products, associated with certain area in which the product is produced and meets certain criteria of quality and taste. Any entrepreneur is able to gain this brand for his product, if a local society has acknowledged this product as its Local Identity Product, which has to be created in certain geographical territory from resources existing is this territory, as well has to meet requirements of the quality and contribute to balanced development of territory. Idea of LIP contains the concern about exploration of local resources, the sustainable usage of them, using environmentally friendly materials and processes. The system is based on involvement the local community through both personal experiences with consumption of local products and direct participation if the process of identification of quality criteria and award. This direct contact with both producers and consumers results in a greater producers' responsibility for their products.

The first Local Identity product was awarded in  November of 2011 in district of Ķekava!
